A evergreen flowering shrub that can grow up to 2 m tall, belongs to the family of Lamiaceae. Native to Mediterranean region, now cultivated throughout the world in Middle Ease, France, England, Spain etc. Even for a long-time rosemary has been used as a spice and medicine. Historically, in Europe, rosemary was widely used in wedding and funerals. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of ground parts of Rosmarinus officinalis.
